Core Duo's errata list

Geek.com has just posted an article that's not a highly enjoyable read.

Within, they observe that in the less than 20 days since the Intel Core Duo was officially released, Intel's Errata documentation for the processor already shows 34 known problems with the chip. The known issues range from the fairly benign to ... the less benign. But such errors are not uncommon among CPUs. The Pentium 4 has 65 known errors, as an example. PowerPC chips have plenty as well. In fact, at present, Intel only plans to fix one of the Core Duo's bugs.

Given that bugs in CPUs are a rather normal thing, and that software workarounds can take care of most of the known issues, perhaps this need not be too alarming a report. See the Geek.com article for a description of all 34 issues and an assessment of what they mean to developers.
