I am happy to say that after nearly eight months of running this website, dedicated to Apple's transition from PowerPC to the Intel architecture, I finally have an Intel-based Mac of my own. Yesterday my 2GHz
MacBook Pro arrived and, I must say, the evening was about little else than unpacking, setting it up, and checking out application speed (more on that later). All with that wonderful new-computer-smell wafting up from the warm underbelly of this shiny, dual-core, widescreen piece of Apple goodness. My wife was so pleased.
Of course, I chronicled the unpacking with a series of photos, presented here in fairly high resolution 1280x960. (Click the thumbnails to see the full images.) Enjoy!
