As our regular readers are likely aware, we put more stock in system reviews from Ars Technica than any other technology website. As such, we are pleased to link to their recently posted
review of Apple's new Mac Pro.
The 8-page review provides a nice "how we got here," takes an in-depth look at the Xeon 5100 CPU (a.k.a. Woodcrest), examines the ways in which the Mac Pro goes above and beyond the Power Mac G5, and provides comparative benchmarks to give a feel for the level of performance being offered in these new systems. A worthwhile read, indeed.
